Yamaha XSR 250 Expected Launch Date & Price In India
Recently according to some sources, Yamaha is working on an all-new addition to its sports heritage family, the Yamaha XSR 250. Yamaha already Has the naked streetfighter MT25 for sale in some countries. Now, there are some rumours that Yamaha is working on the quarter-litre XSR 250. The bike is expected to hit the international market soon.
The quarter-litre segment is one of the most exciting in the motorcycle world. Every brand is trying to attract customers with exciting products In the 250cc segment and so is Yamaha. The XSR 250 could be one of the best selling 250cc bikes if priced competitively.
However, there are no official words from Yamaha on the launch date or any information about the bike. If Possible the XSR 250 could be soon revealed by Yamaha in one of the auto shows in 2021. The XSR 250 will be sold only in a few selected countries, where MT 25 is already sold.
Yamaha XSR 250 Price in India & Launch Date
Well, the chances of this bike making it to the Indian shores are almost zero. The XSR 250 will be mainly focused on selling in European and some other selected countries. XSR 250 will be launched in Countries were MT 25 is already on sale.
If somehow Yamaha launches this quarter-litre beauty in India, it will have the price tag similar to the R3. The expected price of Yamaha XSR 250 would be in the range of Rs 3.5 to 4 lakhs INR. But with that price tag, it might not suffice in India as there are already some VFM options like Duke 250.

Quick Overview
It will share its design with its elder siblings XSR 900 & XSR 700. The bike will have a retro neo look with minimal design. The XSR 250 will share its engine with its naked sibling the MT 25. It will have the same 250cc twin-cylinder engine as the MT 25 with some tweak in the power delivery. The engine is supposed to produce 26.5 KW of Maxximum power at 12,000 RPM and 23.6 Nm of peak torque at 10,000 RPM. It will come with a 6-speed transmission and assist & slipper clutch mechanism.
It has hydraulic disc brakes at both front and rear, with a dual-channel ABS as standard. Suspension set up at the front will be an inverted telescopic fork, While at the rear it will be equipped with a linkless mono-shock at the rear. It will also have LED lighting like the MT 25. Most of the hardware components will be similar to the Yamaha MT 25. It will also boast standard features like Dual-Channel ABS and Assist & Slipper clutch mechanism.
Competition
There is currently only one motorcycle in this segment in India, the Benelli Lencino 250. apart from that, there are Naked 250 cc bikes in India like the KTM duke 250, Suzuki Gixxer 250 & Yamaha FZ 25.
Conclusion
All we can do is wait as there are no official words on the launch date. We all want this beautiful quarter-liter neo-retro to see it rolling on the streets. But as we mentioned earlier the availability of XSR 250 will be in limited countries if launched.
Yamaha Will more likely launch the XSR 155 in India this year, as the baby XSR is mainly focused on the Asian market. Yamaha is expected to reveal India bound XSR 155 in one of the auto shows in 2020.
