Honda Hornet 250 Overview
The Honda Hornet 250 is a naked streetfighter bike that takes design inspiration from its bigger siblings. During the time of its launch, it was one of the most stylish naked bikes with an aggressive stance. It was equipped with a new V-Shaped headlamp and extended tank cowls that gave it a muscular look.
The Honda Hornet 250 is powered by a 249cc single-cylinder, DOHC engine. The maximum power output is 28.1 HP at 9,000 RPM, while the peak torque is 23 Nm at 7,500 RPM. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox. The Hornet 250 was one of the best 250cc bikes in terms of performance in its generation.
The suspension duties on the Honda Hornet 250 were taken care of by a telescopic front fork and a swingarm linked mono-shock. It was equipped with hydraulic disc brakes at both the front and rear wheel. The CB250F also had an optional ABS model to choose.
One of the main USP of this bike was its weight, The Honda Hornet 250 weighed only 158KG. The light bodyweight made it easy to handle and agile. It had a fuel tank capacity of 13 litres and a seat height of 780mm.
Honda Hornet 250 Launch & Price in India
As we have mentioned above, The Honda Hornet 250 has been discontinued by the brand so this particular model will not be launched in India. However, Honda might launch the updated version of this bike with a completely new design & new features like its sibling the Honda CB250R for the Indian market.
If Honda launches the newer version of the Hornet 250 in India, then it might be priced in the same range as its competitors, the Duke 250 and Gixxer 250. The Honda Hornet 250 price in India could be in the range of Rs 1.9 lakhs to 2 lakhs. The brand will have to price it aggressively to compete in the 250cc segment.
Verdict on Honda Hornet 250
The older gen Honda Hornet AKA the CB250F was indeed a special bike. During its time it was a muscular and sporty 250cc bike that offered great performance. Honda discontinued this single-cylinder beast in most of the countries in which it was sold.
But now as the market for 250cc bikes is really hot, we hope Honda launches a new version of this beast with a fresh design and new features. As the brand has already launched the CB300R in India, we have high hopes for the Honda Hornet 250 as well. The new Hornet will help the brand to grab the attention of buyers looking for premium entry-level bikes.
