A razor-sharp tail section, tall headlamps along a signature KTM orange paint scheme made it look like a complete badass. This one of a kind super sportbike has been discontinued a long ago. KTM launched the last model in the year 2015 and afterwards, it was never updated. The first model of KTM RC8 made a debut in 2008 in the international market. It was available in the market for 8 years and KTM kept updating it frequently with new features and mechanical changes.
The KTM RC8 price in India was nearly Rs 20 lakhs (ex-showroom) before being discontinued by the brand. If you wish to own this classic piece then sorry to say, it is very hard to find one of these in the second-hand market. Well, looks are subjective and most people might not like the quirky and angular design of the KTM RC8 R. But you can’t deny the fact that is an attention grabber and it turns head every time it is seen on roads. In our opinion, It looks good and its design is one of the major factors that makes this bike so special.
The 1195cc V2 engine of the KTM RC8 R produces a respectable amount of power. Its 173 HP power output puts it in the league of ultra-sporty Italian twins. It loves to be revved and the throttle response is crisp. Its performance of both on track as well as on-street is very impressive. The slipper clutch reduces engine back-torque and prevents the rear wheel chatter while decelerating.
KTM RC8 R is loaded with high-quality equipment like Brembo brakes, Marchesini wheels, and fully adjustable WP suspension systems. It also gets hydraulic steering dampers that improve its overall handling characteristic. One of the good thing about this bike is that the rider can adjust the seat height, footrest and handlebars according to their need and comfort. The riding ergonomics of RC8 is very comfortable compared to other supersport in its class.
The only downside is that KTM has not offered any electronic riding aids like the other bikes in its class. This bike is a piece of art and it will be cherished forever in the motorcycling community.
